Project Life: Week 30

Hello! Summer life has been crazy busy for our family. With all of the fun stuff we've had going on, I'm happy to squeeze in some time to work in my Project Life album! I'm only behind two weeks and am determined to get caught up. As long as I continue to shoot pictures and document the details in my notebook, I shouldn't have a problem doing that when it's time to put my weeks together.

WEEK 30
Life Documented
July 21 - July 27

Summer fun was in full swing again this week! 20k hits on my blog, I played around with my Filo, everyday life with a 4-year-old, and a family trip to the annual waterfront festival in our area. Lots of wonderful memories! The theme this week is definitely more subtle than the previous weeks. Rather than in-your-face neons, I used washed-out coastal, beachy tones. I thought the new papers I purchased and printables from my stash, paired with this week's photos, helped carry out my vision for this spread. Don't you think the waterfront festival pictures look fabulous with the different cards?

Week 30: Left Page Using Handmade Cards
This page is the reverse side of the Hobby Lobby insert from Week 29. I decided to fill it up with handmade cards. The 4x6's were cut from 12x12 sheets of paper from Amy Tangerine's "Ready Set Go" line, and Crate Paper. For the title card I used scrabble-style alphabet stickers by AC, a Dymo label, a Cosmo Cricket butterfly, and polka dot tag from my scraps. I added the "30" with a silver paint pen and outlined it with a fine-tipped black zig pen.

Week 30: Left Page - CloseUp

The 4x3 stamped journal card seen here came from a set that was given to my by Cathy V. of Paper Addict. I've had them for a year and never got around to using 'em. Happy to finally do that! I just added a "doily" sticker by Cosmo Cricket to complete it. I had some fun this week using smartphone apps with my photos. The 4x4 instagram photo with the "Gangsta" sentiment was created with InstaQuote for Android.

Week 30: Left Page - Another CloseUp

The rest of the handmade cards hold a fun mix of instagram photos, printable tags, labels, and cards, Cosmo Cricket stickers, a Cameo cut, candy glitter dots, and tiny alphabet stickers. I used another awesome smartphone app called DecoPic, to create the fun 4x4 photo of my daughter's love for Hello Kitty. I finished off the page with some roller date/rotary phrase stamps.

Week 30: Right Page
Here I'm using a We R Memory Keepers photo page. I really liked the layout of the six 6x4 slots. I filled them with more handmade cards created from Amy Tangerine's paper collections, a filler card by Dear Lizzy, and free printable journal and filler cards from my stash. I added different types of photos to mix it up a bit.

For this card I used a sheet from Amy T's "Sketchbook" paper pad, and layered it with a free printable from my collection. I added a wallet-sized instapic and piece of carnival ephemera RAK'd to me by a fellow Smash*aholic a year ago. (I'm seriously destashing my stash!) I added an MME enamel dot to complete the card.

I also used a full-sized 4x6 photo (which I jotted on with a slick writer), and two more 4x4 photos. Again, I played with another fun smartphone app called InstaWeather. [I have the Pro version.] It uses your GPS to add location and weather details as fun skins on your instagram pics. Perfect app for Project Life, summer, or anyone who likes documenting where they've been with photos. I used a small printable journal card, a print and cut label, and the other half of that "doily" sticker to finish off the page. Super sweet and simple.

I really love how these pages turned out. Fun and fresh and screams Summer in a whole different way than the rest of my album! I hope you enjoyed today's post :) I'll be working on getting caught up, so I'll be posting another PL post very soon.
